SPRING 2017 UPDATE: The Green Retreats Group factory & offices are now completely carbon neutral.
As part of our initiative to continually improve our processes, the Garden Studio factory & offices are now completely carbon neutral. This means that our customers can be sure that their Garden Studio has been created with NO NEGATIVE IMPACT on the environment.
How have we done it?
To become carbon neutral in our factory & offices, the minimal carbon emissions created have been offset against 4 projects that help combat climate change around the world.
1. India Wind, India
This wind farm in India provides rural communities with clean energy that feeds into a grid – displacing fossil fuel energy and improving connections for these communities.
2. Lifestraw Carbon for Water, Kenya
This project provides safe water by distributing 877,505 LifeStraw Family filters to households in Kenya’s Western Province. The LifeStraw requires no electricity or consumables to operate, providing an energy efficient solution to access safe drinking water.
3. Burn Stoves, Kenya
The Jikokoa stove reduces charcoal consumption by 50% and prevents the use of woody biomass in cooking. The Jikokoa stove is also highly efficient in reducing cooking smoke pollution to the environment. The demand for wood fuel and charcoal in cooking leads to deforestation which has devastating effects to bio-diversity and habitats for endangered species, as well as reducing plant matter for carbon uptake in forests.
4. Gyapa Efficient Stoves, Ghana
The Gyapa Stove improves health, slows deforestation and supports the local economy. The Gyapa stove design reduces harmful smoke emissions by removing the need to cook with traditional stoves or open fires – improving the health of the families that use these stoves everyday. The project creates jobs and helps develop skills in the local community. Local entrepreneurs manufacture and distribute these stoves, providing valuable training and skills that are transferable in the community.

Our garden rooms are priced based on the internal sizes rather than the exterior footprint, making it easier for you to plan your work space. A commercial unit from Green Retreats could end up saving you a fortune from the costs of renting a workspace alone. The price includes base, installation and VAT so there are no (nasty) surprises when it comes to final payment.
